15th MAY 2017 - a win away in Scotland against the newly promoted Edinburgh Wolves set the Phoenix up with a 2-0 record, and the lead in the Northern Conference Premier Division.

​

14th MARCH 2017 - Heartbreak at home, as the Durham Saints edge the semifinal 7-0.

​

5th MARCH 2017 - A 29-8 win in the National Quarter Final at home against Swansea, a kick return touchdown being the highlight of the game.

​

19th FEBRUARY 2017 - In the final regular season game of the season, Loughborough dismantle Derby 28-7, giving them the number two ranking in the Northern Conference, securing the first home playoff game in five years.

​

12th FEBRUARY 2017 - Stirling beat Loughborough away from home 38-21

​

5th FEBRUARY 2017 - The students edge NTU 7-3 at home, with the Defensive Line turning in an inspired performance.

​

4th DECEMBER 2016 - Loughborough avenge their two 2015 defeats to the Derby Braves with a comprehensive victory away from home. Two Special Teams scores setting up a 28-13 win.

​

27th NOVEMBER 2016 - Loughborough record the second win of their season with a 13-10 win away at the NTU Renegades.

​

13th NOVEMBER 2016 - Heartbreak as the Loughborough Students Lose 12-6 in Overtime at the current National Champion Stirling Clansmen.

​

1st SEPTEMBER  2016 - Hired by Loughborough University Students to Coach the Special Teams and Defensive Line for the 2016-17 BUCS season.

​

14th AUGUST 2016 - Home-field advantage wasn't enough to beat the five-time national champion London Blitz. Despite holding the visitors to 20 points through the first three quarters, the home team capitulated as they started to chase the game, losing 41-14 in the National Semi Final.

​

7th AUGUST 2016 - It was a carnival atmosphere in Tamworth as the Phoenix were able to shuffle the pack, and give everyone meaningful game-time in a 41-21 win at home against the Merseyside Nighthawks. A Will Hobbs interception as time expired iced the game, gifting the Nix their first unbeaten season in the British Premier League.

 

31st JULY 2016 - The Phoenix sealed the Northern conference crown thanks to a 51-0 win against the Sheffield Predators. A workmanlike performance in Yorkshire gave the Nix Defense their fourth shut-out of the season.

WHAT THEY SAID: "The Sheffield offense will be glad to see the back of the Phoenix, as they turned in another miserly performance, limiting the home team to under 150 total yards" (Double Coverage)

17th JULY 2016 - The Tamworth Phoenix defense opened the scoring against the Nighthawks, thanks to Dan Hampton's pick-six in the first quarter. The rest of the defense also chipped in, with five total interceptions gained against the previously undefeated Merseyside team. The Nix ran our 31-17 winners away from home.

​

15th JULY 2016 - Now ranked #2 in the Nation, the Phoenix face the Merseyside Nighthawks in the 'Game of the Week' according to the Double Coverage British Football Website. Their preview of the games hints at "a huge performance from projectHAVOC" that will help them get the win away from home.

3rd JULY 2016 - An Oli Campbell tackle, strip and return gave the Phoenix the first points in a 56-7 win over the Lancashire Wolverines away from home. Tamworth's defense took six turnovers, including four from the first four drives in a win that took the Phoenix to 7-0 on the season.

26th JUNE 2016 - The Phoenix extended their record to 6-0 with a 63-0 demolision of the Coventry Jets. A rampaging Phoenix defense contributed ten points, and allowed only 16 total yards in the victory.

​

12th JUNE 2016 - In the toughest game of the season so far, the Phoenix edged the Pirates 15-13 in their second contest of the season. The win gave Tamworth their first ever two-win season against East Kilbride. The Phoenix now sit atop of the BAFA Premier North with a perfect 5-0 reconrd at the half-way point in the season.

5th JUNE 2016 - The Tamworth Phoenix went 4-0 following a 47-0 win against a very physical Sheffield Predators team at Atherstone. A Will Hobbs interception on the first drive of the day set the tone as #projectHAVOC haraunged the Predators all day, and found themselves 40-0 up at the half. A Tom Tandurella 90 yard interception return with the last play of the game was the icing on a cake.

29th MAY 2016 - I was delighted to be elected to the post of Vice President for the British American Football Coaches Association. Having recieved so much enjoyment from coaching, I felt that it was important to give back to the Association, and help develop the next generation of coaches. I'm delighted that there are so many young, hugry and talented coachess coming through the British game, it's my hope that many more of them will be afforded the opportunities that I was so blessed to recieve.

27th MAY 2016 - As an eager volunteer for the British American Football Coaches Association, I was excited to play an integral role in organising the 2016 BAFCA convention in Nottingham. Not only did I source the venue - in a bright, vibrant and exciting city - but I was also able to recruit several coaches to the event, including Brett Elliott (Offensive Coordinator, Texas State), Danny Verpaele (Linebackers, Valdosta State), and Mike Sherman (former HC, Texas A&M and Green Bay Packers).

22nd MAY 2016 - The Coventry Jets were the Tamworth Phoenix's latest victims as they fell 55-0 against the form team in BAFA Premier North. The Phoenix defense recorded two safeties and forced five turnovers as they blanked the Jets away from home. Coventry recorded two first downs and were limited to 53 total yards in the whitewash.

8th MAY 2016 - Tamworth Phoenix extended their record to 2-0 as they beat the Lancashire Wolverines 53-14 at home. The Phoenix defense snagged six more turnovers and grabbed another defenive score as they limited the usually high powered Lancashire defense to two scores. The Phoenix now stand atop of the Premier Division: Northern Conference after two games.

1st MAY 2016 - The Tamworth Phoenix defeated the East Kilbride Pirates 55-7 at Hamilton Rugby Club, ending their eight year unbeaten streak at home. The Phoenix defense allowed only 116 yards of total offense against the defending Northern Conference Champions, including 26 rushing yards on 26 carries. The defense also scored the first points of the 2016 season, as Al Jarvis took an interception back 26 yards on the fourth play of the game. There were also turnovers from Will Hobbs, Daniel Norgrove and Andy Mortimer - the final one deep in the fourth quarter which iced the game.
