ABOUT ME

I am a British Football coach living and working in Birmingham, England. I have been coaching American Football over the past ten seasons, for programs both in the UK and the United States. I am currently the Defensive Coordinator and Director of Performance for the Tamworth Phoenix, a senior league team competing in British American Football's Premier League.

I began my career coaching for the University of Loughborough Aces, firstly as the Defensive Line coach, before hired as the school's third Head Coach in 2004. Over the next six seasons Loughborough would go 46-6 in regular season competition, as notching up three undefeated seasons and three Conference Championships, with two appearances in the National Championship game.

In 2007 I was hired as the Defensive Coordinator an expansion senior league team in Tamworth. The Phoenix played their inaugural season in 2009 earned a a spot in the Division 2 final, and were duely promoted to Division 2. Two years later, the Phoenix won the British American Football Division 1 championship, earning promotion to the top tier of British football, where they currently compete. This past season, I returned to the Phoenix to coordinate their defence once more; we finished the season with a 9-1 record, conceding only 90 points, whilst leading the nation in turnovers.

During 2010 I was given a chance to join the Endicott College football programas an intern coach during pre-season coaching the Tight Ends, that season the Gulls won their first New England Football Conference Championship, and their first berth in the NCAA tournament. I was hired full-time the following year, and left the UK to join the Gulls intially as the Defensive Line coach, and then the Linebackers coach. We had back-to-back seasons winning the ECAC North Atlantic Bowl, with a 19-3 record over that span. My final year in Beverly saw the Gulls win the NEFC for the second time, followed up by their second all-time NCAA tournament appearance.

I was fortunate to be brought to Mississippi State by Coach Geoff Collins the following year. The Bulldogs had a historic run, spending five weeks ranked as the best team in the nation. I had the opportunity to work with some phenomenal coaches, and highly talented players. I spent the year learning from Coach Collins, developing my skills on the defensive side of the ball, and working with the Linebackers.

Upon my return to the UK, I was rehired by the Tamworth Phoenix to reprise my role as Defensive Coordinator once more. A fantastic 8-2 season was characterised by a swarming, ferocious defense that notched up as many points on turnovers returned, as two other Premier teams scored on offense. We are currently three quarters of the way through the 2016 season, and the Phoenix are currently ranked #2 in the Nation, possessing a 7-0 record.

Off the field, I have held two positions on the British American Football Coaches Association Executive Committee, and have played a large role in coordinating the 2016 Annual Convention, due to be held in Nottingham in May. I've also represented Great Britain as a coach - firstly in 2006 as the Linebackers coach for the GB Students team, and then on the senior squad that competed in the 2008 European Championship. I have also coached the University Northern All Star team twice.

I am a member of the British Student Football Hall of the Fame, being inducted in 2015 for my work coaching the Loughborough University program. I have also had my jersey retired by both Loughborough and Tamworth as a thank-you for my commitment and effort shown to those programs.
